I took this photo several years ago. I've tried to take similar photos since, but this patch of coneflowers has never come back at the botanical garden.
This photo (in a 16x20 print) was shown during an Arts Council photography show and sold for $250 after the show.

I don't know why, but I've always loved the look of the center of a magnolia bloom. Maybe its the fuscia at the base. Can't wait for the magnolias to go to seed. I love those bright red seeds.

Ok, so most of the transformations were completely unattractive, but I liked these three.

I went to the botanical garden yesterday and shot a whole bunch of stuff. I was showing the photos to a friend and she told me this funky flower is a Columbine. I love the "tentacles".

Ok, technically I took this one yesterday, but I held onto it for today. I'm taking my macro lens for my Canon to the Botanical Garden today (barring heavy rain) to see what's in bloom.

I've been so focused on portraits for the past year that I'd nearly forgotten the joy of macro nature photography. I hope the rain holds off and I can get some good shots today.

I took this photo several years ago and found it in my files the other day. I just really like it so I'm posting it here. I once used it as an entry for a photo contest...made it into a poster on intensity.

I want to take and post a photo every day that he's gone. It might be like this one (taken with my webcam on my couch) or it might be something done that day that I wish he'd seen.

I miss him already and he's not even gone. *sigh*
